- Nonapeptide-1 is a synthetic 9-amino acid peptide that inhibits melanin production by blocking α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone) receptor binding. - Carnosine is an endogenous dipeptide (beta-alanine + histidine) found in high concentrations in muscle and brain.
