Storage & Shelf Life Guide
Keeping peptides potent from shipment to injection
Lyophilized (dry powder) storage
Unopened lyophilized peptides are stable at room temperature for short periods (days to a few weeks) but should be stored in a refrigerator (2–8°C) for anything beyond a few days. For long-term storage — months to over a year — a freezer at -20°C is ideal. Keep vials away from light and moisture. Most peptides remain stable for 1–2 years when properly frozen and lyophilized.
After reconstitution
Once mixed with BAC water, peptides must be refrigerated at 2–8°C and used within 14–28 days depending on the compound. Never freeze a reconstituted peptide — the water expands and can damage the peptide structure. Keep the vial in the back of the fridge where temperature is most stable, not in the door. Discard if you notice any cloudiness, particulates, or color change.
Staqk tracks your vial open dates automatically and alerts you when a vial is approaching expiry.
Signs of degradation
A healthy reconstituted peptide solution is clear and colorless (or very faintly yellow for some compounds). Discard immediately if you see: cloudiness or haziness, floating particles or sediment that doesn't dissolve with gentle swirling, a strong or unusual odor, or any visible color change. Degraded peptide won't just be ineffective — it could be harmful.
Traveling with peptides
For short trips (1–3 days), an insulated travel pouch with a small ice pack is sufficient for reconstituted peptides. For longer travel, prefer to bring dry lyophilized vials and reconstitute on arrival. When flying, carry peptides in your carry-on — checked baggage can experience extreme temperature swings. BAC water and insulin syringes are generally permitted in carry-on with a prescription or research documentation.
Per-peptide shelf life reference
Lyophilized (sealed, refrigerated): BPC-157 ~2 years, TB-500 ~2 years, CJC-1295 ~2 years, Ipamorelin ~2 years, Semaglutide ~2 years. Reconstituted (refrigerated, BAC water): most peptides 14–28 days. Reconstituted GLP-1 pens (manufacturer-filled): typically 28–56 days per label. Always defer to your supplier's documentation when available.
