Summary
LL-37 is the only known human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide. It kills bacteria, fungi, and viruses by disrupting their membranes, while simultaneously modulating immune responses. Used for antimicrobial protection, immune priming, and wound healing.
Vilon is a synthetic dipeptide (Lys-Glu) derived from the thymus gland extract Thymalin. The shortest immune-regulatory peptide known, Vilon modulates T-cell and NK-cell function, extends lifespan in animal models, and shows epigenetic anti-aging activity. It is one of the Khavinson peptide bioregulators.
Half-Life
Very short (~1–2 hours) in plasma due to protease degradation; topical use bypasses systemic clearance
Very short as a free dipeptide; effects mediated via gene regulation
Admin Route
SubQ, Topical, Intranasal
SubQ, Oral
Research
Typical Dose
100–300 mcg
1–2 mg SC daily or 5–10 mg oral daily
Frequency
2–3x per week
Once daily
Key Benefits
  • Broad-spectrum antimicrobial (bacteria, fungi, viruses)
  • Promotes wound healing and angiogenesis
  • Immune system modulation — enhances innate immunity
  • Reduces LPS-mediated endotoxemia
  • Anti-biofilm activity against resistant organisms
  • Promotes tissue regeneration and keratinocyte migration
  • May protect against sepsis
  • Immune system modulation and restoration
  • Lifespan extension (30–40% in animal studies)
  • T-cell and NK-cell activation
  • Epigenetic anti-aging activity
  • Reduces oxidative stress markers
  • Antioxidant gene upregulation
  • May prevent age-related immune senescence
  • Anti-tumor immune surveillance
Side Effects
  • Injection site redness and irritation
  • Mild inflammatory response at injection site
  • Potential pro-inflammatory at high doses
  • Rare: fever or flu-like symptoms at initiation
  • Excellent safety profile, decades of Russian clinical use
  • Rare: mild injection site reaction
  • Very rare: mild allergic reaction
